What is Humanism?

Humanism, in a nutshell, is a view of the world that embraces the fact that we are creatures formed by nature, that we exist in this world surrounded by natural and scientific wonders and that we, ourselves are not placed above nature.

We strive to be rational, to put community first, to act from an ethical standpoint.

We can use our compassion and reason to empathize with each other, stand up for each other, and work together to make good in the world.

We are all deeply connected through remarkable circumstance and by listening to each other and acknowledging each other, we can still embrace life from a place of awe, rooted in the belief that our mutual humanity is the source of our morality, where our mutual dependence is the source of our strength, and where our mutual understanding of each other is the source of our knowledge.

That’s my interpretation anyway.
